This week we have some rare fish we are selling at trade or less prices stunning Helfrichi Firefish at £75!
Reef safe Mystery Wrasse also at £75 these are a favourite of mine and a great fish for a reef tank that is both peacefull and reefsafe.
Some great Yellow Tangs at a good size around 1.5" fit and healthy eating flake food already!

31/01/2012 Conspic Angel (chaetodontoplus conspicillatus)
Wow! what a stunning Angel fish we picked up this rare Conspic Angel last week and it is now in our fish system and feeding well.
If anyone is interested in this rare large angel for there marine system then please feel free to contact us but beware the exclusivety of this fish does come with a high price tag to match!
Endemic to to areas of Australia this fish is not often imported into the United Kingdom and this particular fish is a great size at twenty two centimetres.
24/01/2012 ML High Power LED Lighting
At last exclusively from Marine Life high powered LED light units initially in stock we have the ML-4 and ML-8 units in stock there is a 50% mix of blue and white 14k three watt LEDs.
Very high build quality and looks great with superb LEDs this is not a cheap alternative but an excellent product ideal for SPS or LPS Coral systems.
The ML-4 has four clusters of twelve LEDs, each LED is a high output three watt LED giving a staggering 144 watts of power.
The larger unit ML-8 has eight clusters of twelve LEDs, each LED is a high output three watt LED giving 288 watts!
18/01/2012 Great New Top up Systems!
V2 Top up systems including single or double float switches are now in stock!
These are an excellent new product from TMC that brings the reality of having a safe reliable tp up system on your aquarium within a realistic sensible price from £34.99.
The single float switch version has one float to regulate the height of water in the aquarium or sump and the plus version has two float switches the second to go in the freshwater vessel to make sure the pump does not run dry if all the top up water is used.

Mysis RS is 100% whole freshwater Mysis Relicta which is often confused with other Mysis products that are sold around the world. Mysis Relicta is harvested in British Columbia freshwater lakes and is now recognized as being one of the most nutritionally complete foods in the pond, aquarium and aquaculture industry.
Mysis Relicta has a wide distribution which includes all formerly glaciated areas in the northern hemisphere. It has also been introduced to several areas where it was not previously found. These areas include lakes in Sweden, Norway, British Columbia, Montana and California.
Deep, cold waters with high levels of dissolved oxygen are preferred by Mysis Relicta. The species tends to inhabit deep oligotrophic lakes that provide ample oxygen and suitable temperatures during the heat of summer when stratified eutrophic lakes experience oxygen depletion in the hypolimnion.
Mysis Relicta is a truly omnivorous filter feeder. Algae, detritus, and other zooplankton are all consumed. Diet may vary from lake to lake, season to season, and year to year depending on availability of food items and abiotic factors. This helps to explain some of the unexpected problems that have resulted from Mysis introductions in British Columbia and elsewhere. For example, in some instances cladocerans such as Bosmina and Daphnia are a major food source. In these instances, Mysis competes directly with planktivorous fish and larval fish for food resources. When cladocerans are not present (or they are not commonly encountered by Mysis) they will sometimes prey upon copepods instead (Lasenby and Furst 1981, Chess and Stanford 1998). In other instances, Mysis is primarily a phytoplankton grazer.

We have in stock now this superior brand live phytoplankon from First Bite.
First Bite Premium Reef Blend is a blend of Nannochloropsis Oculata, Phaeodactylum Tricornutum and Chlorella with a cell size of 2 – 20 microns and a cell count of 400 - 500 million cells per ml.
First Bite Premium Reef Blend is produced using the latest bio-reactor technology by producing phytoplankton in this way we are able to control the concentration and overall quality of the finished product computers are constantly analyzing the product and feeding it the optimum level of nutrients to ensure that you get a finished product that is exactly what it says on the pack.
This product is produced to 32x the concentration of non processed live phytoplankton meaning if you are already dosing phytoplankton you will need to use a considerable amount less of this product at each feed you will also be feeding an extremely clean uncontaminated product and not culture media.

Due partly to the increased demand of our products since the launch of our new website we are finding the shop in Whitley Bay is even busier than ever. To meet this demand we are looking for either two part time staff or one full time depending on your experience and the commitment you can offer us.
Our store has always maintained a very high standard of cleanliness in our livestock systems and this is something that sets us firmly apart from other stores therefore this is a large part of the work that will be involved in all positions available.
Other duties will include general maintenance of livestock systems, re-stocking livestock, general shop maintenance and giving customer advice (after training) and all other duties associated with the North Easts leading Marine Aquarium store.
Experience of Marine Aquariums would be preferred but knowledge of Aquarium livestock and of course excellent customer service skills would be advantageous.
